LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S SAFETY ACT OF 2004
Congress has passed H.R. 218
an Act cited as the “Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act of 2004. President Bush as signed it into law. This Act amends Title 18, United States Code to exempt qualified current and former law enforcement officers from State laws prohibiting the carrying of concealed handguns.
This is now the law of the land.
There are many in the field of law enforcement who vehemently opposed the passage of this Act. Their reasons are many, but they have been overruled by the People of these United States through their representatives in the Senate and House.
What effects will result from the enactment of this new Law?
