OCTOBER 2009 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The General Membership meeting of The NYCPD Verrazano 10-13 Association met on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Great Kills Knights of
Columbus Hall, 22 Hillside Terrace. Approximately 150 members were in attendance.
New members were welcomed: Lt. John Olivieri, 122 Squad (Retired), PO Richard Ciaberri,
SICS, CJB (Retired), Sgt Thomas Montello, CJB (Retired)
Five $500 college scholarships were awarded as follows:
1. The Colonel David Kelley Scholarship was awarded to Tara Lawson;
2.
The Joseph Bellestri Scholarship was awarded to Lauren Casparie;
3.The PO Anthony Lombardi Scholarship was awarded to Vanessa Castris;
4.The Sergeant Sal Margarella Scholarship
was awarded to Christine Palmieri;
5. The PO Vito Madaloni Scholarship was awarded to Timothy Sikorski
A check for $500 was awarded to the family of PO Jeffrey Daluise, NYPD (retired)
who passed away this week in Florida.
NYC Council Minority Leader James Oddo (R), and NYC Councilman Vincent Ignizio (R)
addressed the membership on issues that effect the community. Both men are incumbents seeking reelection;
Candidate John Luisi (D)
seeking election for Borough President of Staten Island and Candidate Janine Materna (D)
seeking election to the NYC Council also addressed the membership on the issues.
